Current Annoyances

Why bother with any other forum?
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

And, just like that, Dalty's opinion of Scotland reverses itself.

I've heard you refer to them pejoratively as "the sweaters." Is that a common slang word for Scots? I Googled it and didn't really find much..

The Sweaties. It's from Cockney Rhyming Slang.

Those super spicy nachoes I had last night. They burned going in, and now they're burning coming out.

I hadn't thought of that. Tub full of icewater works as well.

Ah well, every so often I need to experience something like this to remind me to stay out of prison.

I guess this is where my below-the-waste nerve damage comes in handy. I've never experienced this burning-coming-out phenomenon where the excretion of capsaicin, allyl isothiocyanate, and allicin is concerned. I sometimes get sick to my stomach if I eat more than a quarter of an uncooked onion by itself, but that's about it.

Sick to my stomach is what I get when I consume large amounts of alcohol on an empty stomach. Happens more often than I would care to admit.

I felt dirty going with lyrics specific to the UB40 cover (specific, specifically, to the worst part of the UB40 cover), but there's something already dirty, in general, about Neil Diamond songs.
