I just want to go back to bed.
So they do all the work, but because you are a human being who can interact with non-programmers you are clearly leadership material. Embrace it and ride that wave to promotion!!

Were this an in-person discussion I would simply point at Dalty and nod with wide-eyed approval.

Adam54 wrote:Current Annoyance: People who write things like "Thx" and "Ppl" instead of "Thanks" and "People." It's one thing to do that in a text message (where it also annoys me, though much less so) but I'm seeing FAR too many cases lately where people have actually written the shorthand version and it makes me crazy.
Maybe they are tiny-handed Trump people.

My, I'm being loquacious today! At this rate I'll hit 1000 posts next month!

I know, let's take an interesting show about science and experimentation, first lop off 3 of the cohosts, then get rid of the main hosts, and then reboot it as a reality show. This plan CAN'T fail!

Estate Agents. It's only been two years since I moved into the Dalty Cave and I had forgotten what utter shits they are. Now I am looking at moving again so I have to deal with them.

Alas the UK property market and circumstances is in danger of taking this out of my control.

s01e18 is called "Naysayer." It's a whole broadcast hour built around that pun. It's a series of eight comic interruptions. Our Hero appears from out of nowhere--usually in a slow burn--and objects to things. Although he does a lot of objecting during this episode, he is unlike the Objectivists mentioned in the BvS thread.

It's one of the episodes with a fairly short summary and a fairly long note section. Those are my favorite sorts of episodes.

I feel for ya, Jubbers. We've got a couple of new guys, Tweedledee and Tweedledum, here. Tweedledee is a heavy smoker, so is always hacking up a lung. Tweedledum ALWAYS, and I mean, ALWAYS then proceeds to fake-cough right after him. A couple of weeks ago I told Tweedledum "You know, that was funny the first 1000 times you did that. Now, not so much" That stopped him for a while. He also is sort of like the Chris Farley skit from SNL "You remember that 80s movie/rock band/sport team/etc? That was cool"

I basically walk into work with my earbuds in and don't talk them off until I leave.

I'm having to do "white belt" certification at work over the next week. I have like 2 1/2 more hours of video to watch before taking the test. They just covered how to calculate means and medians. :wall: :wall: :wall:

I have a new current annoyance: our landlord is selling our duplex. He attempted this last summer, but it didn't sell and he took it off the market. Now it's back on the market, and happily advertised as a house that could be converted into a single family-home or kept as is - so many possibilities. Realtor will be showing it off starting Saturday, so we must clean, and now I get to worry about rent hikes or us maybe having to move (the new owners, if it sells, would only need to give us 30 days notice to vacate if they decided they wanted the house all to themselves).

Joys.

Christ! Worth just moving anyway to have some control?

I thought about that, but I really don't want to move yet. I wouldn't want kiddo to have to switch schools, I am in the process of saving up so we can buy a house and not have to worry about this again (but still have a good ways to go for the bare minimum necessary) - moving would eat up this savings, and I initiated the paperwork a couple of weeks ago so that I can legally operate as a business, which would have to be redone (more expense) if we moved.
