The guy had to know it'd eventually come out. He wins every year, and everyone in the cycling community knew he was doping. Seems like easy math.

After watching the film, I'm actually fairly convinced he would've gotten away with it (with his name always inconclusively tainted, mind you) had he not come back in 2009. He got...greedy isn't quite the right word. Vengeful? He spent four years with everybody (rightly) dragging his name through the mud, decided "Hell, I'll come back and win it clean. That'll fix their wagons!" and the damn eventually broke, as it were. Plus it's highly doubtful that he did 2009 entirely clean either, though he's still insisting that he did that time.

'Tis fascinating stuff. Alex Gibney is damn good at what he does.
