Current Annoyances
Forum rules
We once roamed the vast forums of Corona Coming Attractions. Some of us had been around from The Before Times, in the Days of Excelsior, while others of us had only recently begun our trek. When our home became filled with much evil, including the villainous Cannot-Post-in-This-Browser and the dreaded Cannot-Log-In, we flounced away most huffily to this new home away from home. We follow the flag of Jubboiter and talk about movies, life, the universe, and everything, often in a most vulgar fashion. All are welcome here, so long as they do not take offense to our particular idiom.

You know, ninjas never used to get a bad rap. And then Vanilla Ice came along.

Well, in this life there's only one winner - you better aim straight so you can hit the center. Unfortunately for the Iceman, he didn't quite hit the center that time.

Gunshots rang out like a bell. He grabbed his nine, and all he heard was shells.
Clearly, he didn't have time to focus these shots.
If he'd heard half shells, it would have been over before he grabbed his nine.
I'm not sure what good grabbing your ding-dong's gonna do in a situation like this, but Ice seems to know.
He's not bragging about his size. Let's be clear. We're talking nine millimeters, here.

Current Annoyance
It's -7 in the Twin Cities at the moment. Granted, while this is FAR below normal for March 3 and we're all very sick of the frigidly cold weather, it's something you kind of grow to get used to. Personally, I sort of rationalize it by thinking "All right, at least it'll be warm when I walk into my office today.
Today, it's 47 degrees inside my office. I'm currently typing this while wearing black leather gloves. It's annoying.

Re: Current Annoyances
That was -7F. Uncle Google tells me that's roughly -22C. I should've translated that if only for Dalty's sake in the first place, my apologies.

I have no frame of reference for these minus figures, whether C or F, that you speak of as I am now in the tropics and basking in the sun by the rooftop pool of my hotel slowly recovering from a big, big night.
Current annoyance - lack of Nurofen.

They probably just want to keep it from breaking outside the frame.
Maybe Jubbers could hook us up with some sort of auto-resize function.

I just felt like bitching. The first image of the TAS-Batmobile that I found was 1024 pixels wide and I either had to look for a smaller version of the image or save the bigger version, resize it, and upload it to Dropbox. Fortunately, there were plenty of smaller versions of this image out there, but that's not always the case.

Re: Current Annoyances
I'm still using Photobucket. I guess I'm trapped in the early aughts or something.
One thing I like about Photobucket is that they make it pretty easy to resize, crop, and do all the usual color and lighting edits. If I already have the image loaded to Photobucket, I don't have to open another program. I just edit it right there on the site.

Re: Current Annoyances
I never got on the Photobucket boat. I had gotten used to uploading pictures to the free web space I used to have through Lycos, so I never considered using anything else. And when Facebook made it possible to share pictures with friends, I ended up using that instead.
Besides, I don't think having a Photobucket account would make the process any less annoying. I'd still have to save the picture, upload it to Photobucket and edit it there instead of editing it in Photoshop. It amounts to the same thing.

Re: Current Annoyances
Probably not. I doubt it's any more or less annoying than any other on-line image storage space. I'm used to using it at this point, so it's less annoying than it might be otherwise. There used to be an annoying size limit cap on images, but it has grown with the Internet. Also, uploading things used to be more of a drag (had to do it one image at a time), but they added a drag-and-drop function a couple years ago.
I have a decade-plus store of images there. I still use things I put on there as far back in 2003 when the opportunity presents itself. The Ozymandias images I used came from my Photobucket account. I even used Photobucket to crop one of them.

Re: Current Annoyances
The size limit on pixels was intended to keep the pictures from expanding beyond the frame, as Goiter presumed above. I can install a plug-in to auto-resize pictures, but it will have to wait until tonight or possibly this weekend, especially because of my
Current Annoyance
Since my tech job was outsourced, I was told that I would be substituting in addition to doing some tech work. It was that or not have a job, and, even so, I only have a job until the end of June. What this has translated into is that I pretty much only sub. Everyday. My boss requested me for today, about a week ago, because he's behind on things and I have been substituting every day for the past 3 weeks (which is exhausting and soul-crushing and....). So I wore blue jeans today and, having a terrible cold and not feeling good, a big ol' hoodie.
Got called on the drive. My substitute services were needed until 9:40 at the high school. I explained that I was sick, had no voice, and was in plain clothes, but they insisted. So here I am. And, twenty minutes ago, they came in to tell me that at 10:30 I would need to go the middle school. Superintendent's orders and that he had already talked to my boss. So, despite being in blue jeans, having no voice, and feeling like utter crap, I shall substitute once again.

Current Annoyance:
I googled the expression "intergender relations," just to see whether or how commonly it is used, and I came across this entry in a blog for men playing the Game:
http://therationalmale.com/tag/intergender-relations/
I've read shit like this before. Goiter once directed me toward The Game by Neil Strauss, and I couldn't stand it anymore than I could this blogger's writing. It's not that I find it fundamentally wrong to treat the quest for sex as a game, but I think it's the pseudo-scientific approach and vocabulary which these guys take up that actually bothers me. It reaches a level of creepy sleaziness that I'm just not comfortable with.

I guess one could make the case for "intragender," but I don't think it's exactly an antonym.Bananarama's Bouncy Bits wrote:What is the opposite of intergender?
