Medics is to Adam what Windows 8 is to me. I share your pain.

WhatsApp.
IPhone 5. Working fine since day 1. Today, working fine until about 2 hrs ago. Then every time I opened it it just says "Connecting" at the bottom of the messages and doesn't do what it is saying it will do.
I have tried turning my phone off and on again.
I have tried rebooting my phone.
I have tried closing it in the multi task menu of my phone.
I have tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.
I have checked the permissions for WhatsApp in settings.
I have turned off wi-fi and tried it via 4g.
Absolutely nothing works!
I bet it has probably been updated by the same total c#*t who did Windows 8 !!!

Did you try turning it off and on again again?

Several times. Damn thing is interfering with my ridiculous online flirting. Sigh, guess I will just have to hang out here and flirt with you instead.
The second toe on my right foot. Stubbed the sucker a couple years ago and cracked it down the middle, and it hasn't been whole since. I'm starting to think even if I pulled the sucker out it would grow back cracked.
Also, all the extra commas I seem to accrue when typing to the iPad.

The toe, or the toenail?

The song in this trailer gave Danzig's "Mother" the earthy-chick treatment:

That sounds dirtier than intended.

The person doing the cover is someone named Lissie. Looks like the earthy chick cover is a shtick of hers:

Once she gets out of earthy-chick mode in the trailer (around 1:50), her voice actually takes on a rocker quality I can appreciate more. I could have sworn, though, that the original lyrics said "I can show you what it's like" instead of "I'm gonna show you what it's like."

She probably just took a little creative license. A lot of people do this with their covers. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. "Midnight Train to Georgia" was originally "Midnight Plane to Houston." (It was changed when Cissy Houston covered it. The reason for the change is probably obvious.) I like the change in that case. I feel like there's more defeat and despair in a train ride. It's slower, and it costs less. (It used to cost less, at least. These days, a train ride can cost a pretty penny.)
Anne Murray makes a change to "Daydream Believer" that bothers me. There are a few superficial changes that don't bother me, but at one point, she changes "You once thought of me / as a white knight on his steed" to "I once thought of you / as a white knight on his steed." The rhyme's lost. It wouldn't be a big deal if the rhyming pattern hadn't already been established.

Lissie mentions that she prefers the Stones to the Beatles before she covers "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction." If she hadn't been holding a guitar while she was saying it, she probably would have been patting herself on the back.

Comcast. Motherfucking corrupt, incompetent, monopoly called Comcast.
I've suspected since late fall/early winter that they've been tinkering with my Netflix streaming, as the streaming quality has gotten noticeably worse but ONLY on Netflix. Amazon Prime & basically every other channel on my Roku stream just fine. Crystal clear, even. Yet there have been suspicious streaming issues on the one service who most directly competes with Comcast's entertainment/cable wing, so I've suspected throttling. This seems to confirm that.
Comcast throttles Netflix, Netflix pays bribe to end throttling. Comcast still refuses to describe it as throttling. Perhaps extortion was a better word?

The Gadget Show just declared the desktop computer dead.
Not sure I agree.

I'm not sure when it's time to replace mine that it will be with another desktop. I'll just keep the same monitor and Bluetooth keyboard/mouse, and who knows what will provide the memory and programs?

If it were really dead, there wouldn't be so much pressure to hook keyboards up to tablets. Some say that doing this essentially makes them laptops, but this isn't quite true. They don't go in the lap quite as easily as laptops. The keyboards are too flimsy, and the hookup is too precarious. They need to be put on top of a hard, flat surface... a surface such as one provided by a desk.

Current Annoyance:
The city of St. Paul. Both the drunken asshats who designed it and the modern trained chimps who for the life of them cannot figure out how to get ice off roads. It's Minnesota. We have winter here. FUCKING LEARN TO DEAL WITH THE MOTHERFUCKING ICE YOU INCOMPETENT FUCKS!

Quasar is right. All you need to do is stop, collaborate and listen.
